Most Compact cameras have a video function. Attach this to an optical spotting scope and videoscoping can be fun. These video clips are shot with a Canon S80 mounted on a Swarovski 80mm HD scope, with the video setting at 640x480 pixels at 25 fps. Some are displayed with sound, others not. The clips displayed on the web-site have been optimised for the web and are 320x240 pixels at 25 fps.

The video clips are best viewed if you have a Broadband connection (min. 512k)

Showing birds and other animals through video media makes them come alive. Yes photos are great, but they capture just one moment. Videos allow us to take away our memory of the sighting and to get close to how the bird looks and behaves in it's natural environment.
